Ashtanga: Ashtanga classes follow a set series of postures linked by transitions with corresponding breath and motion. Each posture is held for five breaths before progression to the next. Ashtanga classes are generally heating and strenuous.
Beginner: Beginner classes are designed for individuals who are new to yoga and for those who are interested in revisiting the basics. We offer both Beginner-Gentle and Beginner-Moderate classes. Gentle classes are light and relaxing while Moderate classes more deeply stretch and engage your muscles and steadily increase your heart rate and breathing.
Gentle: Gentle classes are designed to be light and relaxing. They are characterized by slow, deep stretches, short holds of physically engaging postures, and long holds of resting postures. Some of our gentle classes are taught in candlelight.
Hatha: Hatha classes follow a set series of postures each held for 10 or more breaths. The pace of Hatha allows for each posture to become a meditation–an opportunity to tune into the breath and to clear the mind of thoughts. Hatha classes deeply stretch and engage your muscles and moderately increase your heart rate and breathing.
Kids: Why not share the benefits of yoga with the little ones you love? Kids' yoga classes are an opportunity for youngsters to stretch and more their bodies and to center and channel their energy in a productive and meaningful way. Postures are taught through animal stories and other activities and games.
Mommy and Me: Share the experience of yoga with your baby. Mommy and Me classes bring parents and children together on the yoga mat for a beautiful practice. Postures are designed to include baby so everyone can enjoy.
Pre-natal: Prenatal classes nurture the body, mind, and spirit during your pregnancy. Classes are designed for women in their second and third trimesters and include deep stretches, strengthening postures, and relaxation.
Restorative: Restorative classes are designed to refresh and rejuvenate the body and mind. They are characterized by slow, deep stretches and long holds of resting postures. Taking a weekly restorative class as well as a physically-engaging class can bring greater balance and depth to your practice.
Vinyasa: Vinyasa classes are designed to channel the energy and movement of the breath. Postures are linked by transitions with corresponding breath and motion giving the class a natural flow. Vinyasa classes are generally heating and strenuous.
Yoga Dance: Dance to specially selected chakra-opening music as we move from our toes to our heads, enlivening our bodies and balancing our energy. |
